Product tester Fielding Mellish (Woody Allen) falls for political activist Nancy (Louise Lasser), who yearns for more then just laughs, romance, sex, and good times; she wants to take part in the rebellion in San Marcos. Despite the pleads from his parents, Fielding leaves his New York home to find the woman he loves.
"Bananas", a political satire, is one of the earliest attempts from director Woody Allen, and while much of it is out of date, the film showcases his slapstick-attempted humor, sight gags, and those famous one-liners. If one can ignore some of the out dated humor found here, "Bananas" proves to be one of the director's funniest features.
Allen's films include "What's Up, Tiger Lily?", "Take the Money and Run", "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex", "Sleeper", "Manhattan", "Hannah and Her Sisters", and "Love and Death".
The cast includes Woody Allen ("Love and Death", "Annie Hall"), Louise Lasser ("Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex", "Mystery Men"), and Carlos Montalban ("The Out-of-Towners").
"Bananas" falls beneath Allen's following comedy, the classic entitled "Sleeper"; a must-see for fans.
