First and foremost thank you for reading. My presence here is sustained by your continued support (and you support by reading.

about me:
Part geek (I serve as a Business Technology Manager with a primary objective of efficiency; for us geeks tech is not just our career but our lifestyle), wannabe rock star (my mid-length hair is the closest I will ever get for talent and skill have been denied this dreamer), movie buff and literature lover.

For the past 15-years I have been penning film reviews; I've even had the pleasure to study acting for a short period of time. So this is my long postponed entrance to the web (you will always have a million reasons to NOT do something so I felt it was time to JUST DO IT and enjoy).

It was at a young age when I witnessed and fell in love with films like Rebel Without a Cause, Shane, Grapes of Wrath; in other words you can say it was the birth of my long-term relationship with film. I didn't even see The Terminator until years after it's release; I was still transported in the 60s and 70s watching classics like The Godfather, The Great Escape.

why the barking head:
So you might be wondering why I called my little place on the web "the barking head".  Well, for one I loved it (isn't that reason enough?).  Also, it means just this: an aggressive commentator/critic

parental guide:
My rap with the MPAA rating system is it fails to specify the quantity of adult content. You can take two very different films, one with endless vulgarity and another with a few vulgar comments, and at the end of the day receive the same R-rating label. With that being said, a Parental Guide, a Parental Rating system has been added to briefly alert you of the quantity of Nudity, Profanity, Sex, Violence in a film. To research a specific film just go to the MOVIE ARCHIVES at the top or simply do a SEARCH - the free Parental Guide/Parent Rating Review will be displayed at the top of every review.

my intro:
I'm a lover of literature. I hate that the words of wisdom are rarely uttered and the voice of the idiot is never hesitate. I hate that sensitivity is viewed as weakness and emotionally dead is socially acceptable. I hate that hatred and violence coexist with love and happiness. I hate that every time I look out at the world I witness my fellow man abusing my friends and neighbors; raping them of their fortunes and dignity. I hate that there is no unselfish deed in the world. I hate that people cannot turn a cheek. I love that music and literature have withstood the decades, and even today, still massage our heartbeats, motioning our emotions with but a rhythm, with but a paraphrase. I love that words can grip someone, stir them into submission; fully arrest them and entrance them into a world never before witnessed. Good company, good wine, good tunes - I'm very satisfied. And if you share my taste, well in the words of Bogart - "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
